MONDAY ONLY – HUCC Physicians and nurses are happy to prescribe and administer most vaccines and immunizations. Please tell the clerk when you register that you are visiting us for a vaccine only, or for a travel consultation.

 

Vaccines include:

  • Hepatitis A and B (Twinrix, Energix, Havrix, Avaxim) – for everyone travelling who is not already immunized.

  • Typhoid (Typhim, Vivaxim) – for those at risk of foodborne illness in Africa/Asia.

  • Rabies (RabAvert) – for those with likely animal exposure.

Please note that we do not offer childhood vaccines at this clinic. Please see your local Health Unit, family doctor, Nurse practitioner, or search Health Care Connect for more information on where to acquire these vaccines.

 

TRAVEL ADVICE: Some physicians at HUCC are trained travel medicine specialists and will be able to counsel you on travel risks, malaria prophylaxis and other vaccines. If you require these types of services please confirm with the clerk when you register that a travel physician is on shift. These consultations are not OHIP covered and a charge of $30 applies.

 

HUCC is not currently a yellow fever vaccine site.

Some travel vaccines are not OHIP Covered but may be covered by your insurance plan.

Tetanus, Pertussis, and Diphtheria vaccines are OHIP covered and available at HUCC free of charge
